This historic cottage lies immediately by the water's edge and in the heart of romantic Gandria on Lake Lugano. The view of the Lake and mountains is superb and the position is quiet as no traffic is possible in that area. There are parking spaces available for residents above the village. 5 rooms, fireplace and a mini-platform by the water.

Location



Gandria is a centuries-old fishing village by Lake Lugano, situated just before the Italian border in the direction of Porlezza, and about 2 km away from Lugano.

Rising up steeply from the Lake, the houses of Gandria lie closely pressed together and piled high over one another between the Lake and the high-lying lakeside road; narrow alleys and steep Steps lead through the village. Gandria can be reached from Lugano via the lakeside road from which one must descend, or more simply by passenger ferry or via a romantic hiking path that begins in Lugano Castagnola and leads along the banks of the lake for more than 2 km.

Today Gandria is a (very small) picturesque fishing and artists' village, long since listed as a historic monument and very famous. Most of the houses and the restaurants, as well as the old inns by the Lake, can only be reached on foot. There are parking spaces for residents only above the centre of the village.

On offer is one of the historic cottages, 2 storeys high and located near to the water. The cottage has 2 storeys with mini-plot by the Lake.

The main living level is the upper floor; here there is a kitchen-cum-living room with fireplace, a lounge, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom as well as a balcony (naturally with fantastic views). This level has been refurbished.

An inside staircase leads from here to the ground floor with its 2 rooms, a kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. This floor is in a poorer condition and needs refurbishment. Also on this level: a small grotto in the rock for storing wine and access to a platform, only a few sq. m. in size, by the water's edge as a direct access to the Lake.

The house offers a gross internal area of approx. 150 sq. m. The two levels can also be used separately as a 4-room and 2-room flat. For more information please see the layout.

The house is in an absolutely quiet location and surrounded by old restored houses and restaurants, connected by narrow alleys and accessible via centuries-old steps. There are some reserved parking spaces exclusively for the residents of Gandria.
