One of Lugano's two local mountains is the Monte Brè: The sunniest residential area in Switzerland, facing south, with a panoramic postcard view of the city and lake and into the mountains as far as the Monte Rosa in the High Alps. Today Monte Brè forms part of Lugano and is connected by public transport to the city centre.
